Our client approached us to refresh their loft with a full interior update, including:
A new kitchen
A new main bathroom and en-suite
Updated flooring throughout
Replacement of all internal doors
Clever storage solutions for two bedrooms and two bathrooms
Painting and decorating across all walls
Upgraded external windows
Improvements to the balcony off the upstairs room
Initial discussions
Following our first on-site meeting, the client shared a clear vision: a modern, industrial apartment with matte black finishes and a distinct NYC loft feel.
Just as important, though, was ensuring the space stayed bright and filled with natural light.
To achieve the strongest result, we recommended combining our full design service for the key rooms with a dedicated lighting plan for the main living areas — the kitchen, dining space and master bedroom.
The client went ahead with our full design package for the kitchen, master bedroom, main bathroom and en-suite, alongside our lighting design for the principal rooms. For the remaining areas, they selected our design consultancy so the entire apartment felt cohesive from start to finish.
How we achieved it
We began by bringing the client’s ideas together with our own design direction to create clear concept boards for each space. From there, we built dedicated Pinterest boards room by room, aligning on the look, materials and key references — and adding our own curated suggestions to strengthen the overall scheme.
Once the direction was agreed, we translated the concepts into a detailed design plan with considered, high-quality finishes. The work was delivered by one of Akiva’s trusted contractors, with our design consultation and project support guiding the process from start to finish to keep everything cohesive.
The result is a beautifully refined industrial home — and we’re delighted our client is thrilled with the transformation.
